The Kamloops Blazers are making key moves ahead of the upcoming WHL season, with roster changes, staff updates, and fresh talent joining the team. Winger Nathan Behm has committed to play NCAA hockey with Arizona State University in 2026–27, marking a significant departure for the club. Long-time Blazers figure Stu McGregor, a veteran hockey executive with over 40 years in the sport, was also honoured this month with induction into the Western Canada Pro Hockey Scouts Foundation Wall of Fame.

On the operations side, the Blazers have bolstered their hockey department with new hires and internal promotions aimed at strengthening player development and team support. Among the most notable additions to the roster is Latvian goaltender Ivans Kufterins, selected in the CHL Import Draft and signed under a Scholarship and Development Agreement. Kufterins joins the Blazers from HS Riga, bringing international experience and promising depth between the pipes.

The team has also finalized its full 2025–26 WHL schedule, opening the season at home on September 20 against the Spokane Chiefs. With 34 home games planned, the Blazers are looking to deliver a strong early-season presence at the Sandman Centre. Between player transitions, staff enhancements, and new talent in net, the club is signalling a refreshed approach as it prepares for a competitive year in the Western Hockey League.
