Training Camps and Preseason Momentum

WHL teams kicked off training camp and roster preparations. On August 28, teams began their on-ice sessions as players from across the league descended on their respective cities. The WHL preseason officially began on August 31, starting with a matinee showdown between the Tri-City Americans and Wenatchee Wild.

Multiple WHL clubs made early-season moves to secure emerging talent under scholarship and development deals:

  • The Moose Jaw Warriors signed their 2025 first-round pick, Kash Elke, following a strong camp showing.
  • The Kamloops Blazers inked promising 2010-born forward Collin Kim to a similar agreement.
  • The Everett Silvertips also added prospect Elias Papadatos via scholarship and development agreement.

Meanwhile, the Vancouver Giants unveiled their 2025 preseason roster on September 3, featuring 36 players, including several returning top scorers from last season.

On September 3, Kubota Canada expanded its relationship with the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) by becoming the presenting partner of the Memorial Cup, starting with the 2026 tournament in Kelowna, B.C. This milestone underscores Kubota’s ongoing commitment to junior hockey across the WHL, OHL, and QMJHL.
